The site map for Trek Nepal

a complete guide to trekking in Nepal

Preparing to trek

There are four main chapter headings that help you plan the details of your trek. The detailed trek descriptions offer information on the most extreme conditions that you are likely to encounter, and the styles of trekking that will or will not work on a given route. For example, you cannot trek from lodge to lodge on routes where these do not exist, or take large groups where there is no space to camp!

The main subject headings are:

Trekking styles, life on trek, dealing with staff and local people.

Reasonable goals, trekking seasons and trail quality.

Preparations: what to take with you on trek (and what to avoid.)

Health-related topics, emergencies and communications.

Taken together, these texts amount to around 100 A4 page-equivalents of detailed information. They are copiously illustrated, although some are optimised for you to print out and take with you on trek.
